Name:Beast {Prince Edgar}
Once upon a time, there lived a king and queen. The queen was a good and kind woman, and the king loved her dearly. To those not in his family, however, he was known as a cruel and callus man, said to have a heart of ice and a soul of pure iron. A powerful fairy lived in his kingdom, and so greatly did his people suffer under his harsh rule that, on the birth of his only children, two sons, she swore that if he did not learn compassion, his sons would suffer for his cruelty on their sixth birthday.

The years passed, and the boys, named Edgar and Isaac, grew into bright and happy children. Near to their sixth birthday, it was clear that Edgar was learning his father's coldness, while Isaac was, if distant, a gentle and kind little boy. Fearing for her sons, the queen arranged to spirit them away from the castle in secret, hiding her plans from her husband as she prepared to shepherd them to two opposite corners of the kingdom, in hopes that the fairy would not find them.

On the dawn of their sixth birthday, Isaac was sent away, and Edgar still remained. Before he could be sent away, the fairy arrived, and on seeing the king and his lone boy, she cursed the child to bear the mark of a true beast: with fangs and fur, he would remain cursed until his father taught his child to break the cycle of cruelty he had set in motion.

Instead, the king sent his son to a distant part of the kingdom, and told all that his children were dead, slaughtered by the fairy. On his death, the queen ruled in his stead, and her kinder nature made the kingdom a peaceable realm once more. Edgar remained in exile, furnished with a lavish castle staffed by blind servants to tend his needs. He has all but forgotten his brother and his home, and wears a mask when he must venture out of his home. A witch's charm can, on occasion, give him the guise of a man, but magic has its price, and he can only use it sparingly. He protects his privacy jealously, and as the lord of a small village, displays his father's trademark cruelty and icy demeanor in upholding the laws within his lands.
